One of the first things, that may happen when you step out to start a business, or do your own thing, is that someone, whether it be a friend, or family member will tear the idea down. They won’t support you, they will tell you you need to get a “real job.” However, Jim Rone said you are the average of the 5 people you surround yourself with. Its like a crab pot. you set the pot, and it fills with crabs. now, naturally, one lone crab, will try and climb his way out. but what happens? as soon as he starts, the other crabs say oh no you don’t, and they grab a hold of him, and drag him back down. well, the crab is faced with a decision, does he stay in that pot, or does he choose to climb out no matter what? You are like that crab. What are you being told and are you believing what they are saying? Do you have that fire to succeed no matter what, or is that fire being dampened by negativity? I offer you two things to take from this story. First, fuel that fire. Be selective concerning who you listen to, and spend your time with. choose people who will build you up in your life and in your business, and set a line in the sand, regarding those that will drag you down. That line states, you can come this far, but no further. You may love them, but you can not afford to give them residence in your thoughts. Second, ask yourself this, what are you listening to? Are you digesting a daily dose of media and bad news, or are you choosing to read things that will push forward? I’m sure there are other things you can put this question to as well but we will leave it here for now. Do you have any thoughts, are you intentional about who you spend time with and what you listen two daily, if so, who and if not, what are you going to do to going to change who is having input in your life and business?
